Why sailors in Fairfield County come to us

We're not a drop-off-and-wait operation. We're sailors. We race out of Milford Yacht Club on Long Island Sound — we know what a blown kite feels like at the leeward mark, what a failing batten pocket costs you upwind, and how fast you need to be back on the water.

With commercial-grade sailmaking machines — including a 3-point and heavy-duty zig-zag that handles canvas, leather, and multiple layers — and sailcloth in stock, we don't wait on materials. Most repairs turn around in days, not weeks.

We serve the full Fairfield County coastline: Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Westport, Norwalk, Darien, Stamford, Greenwich — and anywhere along the Long Island Sound. If you can bring it to us or we can pick it up, we can fix it.

Common Questions

How do I get my sail to you?

Drop it off in Milford, CT. For larger jobs or if you're far down the Sound, reach out and we can arrange pickup. Email andrew@sailing-store.com to schedule.

How fast is turnaround?

Minor repairs — tears, seam blowouts, batten pockets — typically 1–3 business days. We carry sailcloth in stock so we're not waiting on materials. Major rebuilds depend on the scope; we'll give you an honest timeline upfront.

Can you match my spinnaker cloth?

We carry spinnaker-weight cloth in stock. For color-critical repairs we'll be upfront about what we have — most kite repairs don't need a perfect color match to sail fast.

Do you do on-site welding at marinas?

Stainless and aluminum welding is done at our Milford workshop. Bring the fitting, rail, or hardware to us — or in some cases we can come to you for larger structural jobs.

Are repairs race-legal?

Yes. We sail and race one-design on Long Island Sound. Every repair is done to class-legal standards — we'll flag anything that could raise a protest.

Do you work on cruising boats too?

Absolutely. Racing is our background but we work on all types — cruisers, offshore boats, day sailors. If it's on Long Island Sound or in Fairfield County, we can help.

Ready to get your sail fixed?

Tell us what happened and we'll reply fast with a quote. No forms, no runaround — just real sailors solving real problems.
